It is with great pleasure that I am able to announce that DISC is sponsoring Wired In to Recovery. Please do check out their website – I particularly like their tag line, “realise your potential, achieve your goals, change your life” which seems to me to be what recovery is all about. I also hope you will join me in thanking DISC for supporting our community.
And now….a word from our sponsor:
“Over the next year DISC will help over 12,000 people to achieve their goals and make real changes to their lives. We specialise in working with the issues of drug and alcohol dependency, homelessness, unemployment, family breakdown and reducing offending.
Our services are designed to help people make the changes that will enable them to live independent and fulfilling lives and we believe that our drug and alcohol support services provide a stepping stone on each individual journey to recovery.
DISC are committed to delivering innovative recovery models which help support individuals to make positive changes to their lives, supporting them in all aspects of their recovery including promoting positive well being, improving health, and encouraging re-engagement into all aspects of the community.
Our service users are at the heart of everything that we do. DISC fully supports this by providing real opportunities to move on and progress in recovery, not only helping people to access support and services but also offering volunteering opportunities, peer mentor training and development. Supporting people to develop new skills and helping to support others which in turn will help to maintain their own recovery and long term abstinence.
Individuals who feel they are in the grip of drugs and alcohol need to know that there is hope, there are ways forward and our door is always open. DISC help to show people how they can move on, re-integrate into society and work towards their individual goals.
The world of recovery is exciting and full of opportunities and possibilities and we look forward to joining the online recovery community of Wired In.”
Thanks for your support DISC, you do a great job.
Really pleased to read this. As some of you are aware, ‘Journey to Recovery’ is a service delivery model delivered by DISC and rooted in the firm belief that collaborative partnership working provides improved opportunities for individuals and communities affected by substance misuse issues.
Having just completed my first year of working for DISC (yesterday), I feel proud to be part of a culture that really does place clients at the heart of all it does. Sponsoring our wiredin community just makes me feel prouder.
